President
Kayla K. Thayer, Ph.D., ABPP is a board certified licensed clinical psychologist and authorized PSYPACT provider. She is an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and serves as Director of NSU's Anxiety Treatment Center. She completed internship at the Boston VA and postdoctoral residency at the Miami VA Medical Center. Dr. Thayer has dedicated her research and clinical work to improving mental health outcomes and course of illness in individuals with severe psychopathology. Her research has focused on identifying and subsequently targeting patient risk and protective factors in culturally-informed, evidence-based treatments. Additionally, as a bilingual (English, Spanish) clinician and researcher, Dr. Thayer is committed to continuing to research and provide evidence-based treatments to underserved populations. As President of Section 10, Dr. Thayer proudly works to support the diverse members of the section and their wide variety of professional pursuits.
President Elect
Jared Boot-Haury, Psy.D., MBA (he/they) is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychology Resident in LGBTQ+ Interprofessional Health at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. They earned their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in 2013, his Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago in 2016, a graduate certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice from George Washington University in 2022, and their Psy.D. in 2023 from the Michigan School of Psychology. During Jared's doctoral and certificate studies, he attained certified membership within the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) and is a Certified Mentor in WPATH and a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). Jared is actively engaged in research on LGBTQ+ communities and was recently awarded the APA Division 44 Transgender Research Award. They are also a board member and the Chair of Policy and Government Affairs for GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality.
Past President
Shifali Singh, Ph.D.is the past president of APA Division 12 Section 10. She is a Licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist and the Director of Digital Neuropsychology and Brain Health at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She is also a Lecturer at Harvard University. In her presidency, she has launched a professional development seminar series and is working towards starting a mentorship program for students and early career psychologists who are members of the Division. She is eager to help provide greater access and equity within the field of clinical psychology.
Section Representative
Jill Morris, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and Owner of Morris Therapy and Consulting, PLLC, a private practice devoted to providing evidence-based therapies for anxiety and trauma related symptoms. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Dakota, her pre-doctoral internship at the Bay Pines VA, and her postdoctoral fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center. Dr. Morris specializes in the treatment of PTSD and anxiety disorders. She has extensive training in trauma-focused interventions as well as both behavioral interventions for anxiety disorders and mindfulness-based approaches. Her primary interests include the prevention and treatment of trauma related disorders, impact of trauma informed care practices across organizations, and employee and healthcare provider burnout and resiliency. Dr. Morris is also a PSYPACT provider and able to provide Telehealth services across multiple states. She has served as a member of several committees dedicated to equity throughout her career. She is currently the Early Career Psychologist (ECP) and Graduate Student Representative on the Board of Directors of the Society of Clinical Psychology (Division 12 and Section 10) of APA. Through this role, she acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors of Division 12 and Section 10 to ensure the unique needs of graduate students and ECPs are addressed.
Secretary
Jacqueline Hatcher, LCSW is a Californian at heart and brings a wealth of experience to her role as a fourth-year PsyD student at the Chicago School's Louisiana branch. Her passion for clinical psychology stems from a well-rounded undergraduate degree in sociology, criminal justice, and social work. This foundation fueled her master's in social work and clinical psychology, propelling her into diverse roles as a licensed clinical social worker. Jacqueline's dedication is particularly evident in her advocacy for systemic improvements within the foster care system, where she championed the well-being of both children and caregivers. Her experience in private practice further honed her counseling skills, while her commitment to veterans led her to provide mental health support as a military counselor. Now, fueled by experience and academic rigor, Jacqueline is immersed in her practicum at Louisiana State University Health Science Center's Department of Psychiatry. In the fall, she will complete her practicum with the Biloxi VA, solidifying her expertise in treating veterans with PTSD and other mental health conditions. Each step of Jacqueline's journey reflects her unwavering commitment to becoming a beacon of support and understanding for those in need.
Treasurer
Lyudmila Saltman, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Miami's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Beyond her academic duties, Dr. Saltman holds the position of Treasurer within Division 12, Section 10 of the American Psychological Association. Her professional journey is marked by a dedication to understanding and treating anxiety and mood disorders. Drawing from her extensive training, which includes completing an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral training at the University of Miami, she has cultivated a deep understanding of evidence-based practices. She has worked in various clinical settings, including community outpatient clinics, substance abuse treatment centers, and forensic-focused private practice. In both her research and clinical practice, Dr. Saltman prioritizes a multiculturally sensitive approach, recognizing the unique needs and perspectives of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) Officer
Shaciarra Hamilton. Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois. She works at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Counseling Center providing therapeutic, outreach, training, and crisis management services to the university’s students. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed her APA-accredited clinical predoctoral internship and postdoctoral rotation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in Champaign, Illinois. Dr. Hamilton’s professional emphases both clinically and academically include multiculturalism concerns, relational and cultural issues, identity development, trauma, disordered eating, and body image. Dr. Hamilton is an active member of many outreach efforts across the UIUC campus and believes in the power of connection, community, and collaboration across multiple domains. In Fall 2022, she created and collaboratively executed the inaugural “We are Here Block Party” outreach event for BIPOC Queer students, which was the official kickoff of the local Champaign-Urbana Pride Festival and is now an annual event. Dr. Hamilton is currently the vice president of the Uniting Pride Center of Champaign County and is a co-facilitator for the teen support group. When she is not serving students or the community, Dr. Hamilton enjoys spending time with her family and friends, riding horses, collecting a variety of hobbies, and watching cheesy Hallmark movies. In the APA Division 12 Section 10 Board, Dr. Hamilton is the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Officer. In this role, Dr. Hamilton collaboratively develops programming specifically focused on trainees and early career psychologists from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities. Dr. Hamilton works with numerous partners to support the section’s aim of offering various seminars, mentorship opportunities, and resources to its members.
Communications Chair
Andrea Wieckowski, PhD. is an Assistant Research Professor at the AJ Drexel Autism Institute at Drexel University, PA. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2019 and completed APA-approved clinical internship at Western Psychiatric Hospital and Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Wieckowski’s research has focused on utilization of technology in assessment and treatment of social communication deficits in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her research focuses on understanding and treating facial emotion recognition and expression deficits in school age children and adolescents with ASD, through the use of low cost, transportable technology (i.e., eye tracking, Kinect sensor), with the goal of translating research into clinical treatment strategies. As communications chair, Dr. Wieckowski manages and updates Section 10’s website, Facebook, listserv, and email.
Professional Development Chair
Lindsay Craig, M.S. is currently completing a predoctoral internship at Georgia Southern University Counseling Center as part of her Ph.D. training in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. She has clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, and children with a wide variety of clinical concerns such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma- related disorders, personality disorders, and neurodevlopmental disorders. She is particularly interested in working with collegiate athletes and is an advocate for promoting overall mental wellness for athletes, as well as, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health in athletic populations. Her research interests include self-compassion and mindfulness-based interventions for female collegiate athletes. In her free time, she enjoys Crossfit and riding her Peloton.
Networking & Marketing Chair
Antoine Lebeaut, Ph.D.is a postdoctoral fellow in the Trauma Recovery and Resilience Innovations program and the Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress at the University of Washington. He completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston and his APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. Dr. Lebeaut specializes in the treatment of PTSD and anxiety disorders, with an emphasis on co-occurring conditions. His research has primarily focused on identifying risk and maintenance factors for PTSD and co-occurring disorders in community adults and first responder populations, as well as on both improving access to and efficacy of evidenced-based treatment for PTSD. Dr. Lebeaut’s research has been presented at local, national, and international conferences, published in several peer-reviewed journals, and has been funded by the American Psychological Association and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Through his role in APA Division 12/Section 10, he aims to share and enhance access to learning and networking opportunities for early career psychologists and graduate students.
