Arlene Noriega, Ph.D.

Brief Bio:
Arlene Noriega is a bilingual, licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Georgia and Florida.  She received her Masters’ Degree in Community Psychology at Florida International University and received her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral training as a NIMH Minority Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.  She was an attending psychologist & Assistant Clinical Professor at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School for 4 years.  Dr. Noriega was an Associate Professor at Argosy University (then Georgia School of Professional Psychology) for five years before opening her private practice in 2000. Dr. Noriega has dedicated her career to mental health issues experienced by Latinx children, teens and women.  She specializes in trauma experienced through the immigration process.  In addition, she works with gender and sexuality issues experienced by children, teens, young adults and their families. Dr. Noriega is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) through Divisions 12, 42 and 44.  She was a Council Representative for Div 44 (2016-2018) and subsequently elected to the Council Leadership Team (CLT) of the APA and currently is the Chair of CLT and sits on the APA Board of Directors (2023-2024).  Dr. Noriega was the Chair of the Diversity Committee of Division 12 (Clinical Psychology) for 2022. She is a member of the Georgia Psychological Association, and the National Latinx Psychological Association.
