Brief Bio:
Julia (she/her/ella) is studying in the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (GIPP) in West Hartford, CT and works as a Research Assistant II at The Consultation Center (TCC) at Yale. She recently graduated from the University of New Haven with her Master’s in community psychology where she worked as the Graduate Research Assistant for Esperanza United, a national gender-based violence resource center. She identifies as a storyteller, change-maker, and scholar and dedicates her scholarship to research in the fields of feminist studies, gender and ethnic studies, and embodied narratives around body-image and trauma. Prior to becoming a scholar of community and clinical psychology, Julia trained as a sign language interpreter and has been working alongside the Deaf community since 2012. She plans to merge her experiences into social justice-centered work while continuing to be a resource and contributor to her communities.
