New WAIS®-5 Scales and Indexes Use in Healthcare Settings

Overview:
This webinar will highlight the application in a healthcare setting of the new subtests and indexes available on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale® (5th ed.; WAIS-5). We will focus on specific clinical concerns commonly seen in healthcare environments where cognitive testing is utilized (e.g., cognitive impairment or decline, traumatic brain injury, neurological problems).
Attendees must attend the entirety of the program and complete the Evaluation sent after the program. Evaluations will be sent via email shortly after the Live webinar. CE Certificates will be processed and emailed within 5 – 10 business days from Live Webinar.
Learning Objectives:
- Examine the rationale and application of new subtests on the WAIS-5
- Analyze the new subtests and indexes on the WAIS-5
- Describe how they can be used in practice
- Identify which indexes will be most useful among that patients that you support
- Demonstrate how to utilize the information provided by the new subtests and indexes to address clinical concerns common in a healthcare setting

About the Presenters:
Patrick J. Moran, PhD is the Director of Sales for Government and Public Safety customers at Pearson Clinical Assessment. He has enjoyed a multi-dimensional career as a Clinical Psychologist in Oregon and Washington with over 38 years of experience in test publishing, clinical practice, and public education serving youth, adult, and older adult populations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Psychological Association and the Oregon School Psychology Association.
Dr. Rodin is a clinical neuropsychologist who majored in psychology as an undergraduate at Yale University and completed her PhD in clinical psychology at New York University. In 1994 she opened the Center for Attention, Learning, and Memory in Raleigh, through which she offered clinical assessment services and training for fellow professionals. Since November 2002, she has worked as an Assessment Consultant for Pearson Clinical Assessments. Her clinical interests include learning disorders, psychopharmacology, and the integration of scientific findings into public policy.
