The APA Division 12 SCP LEAD (Leadership Education Advancement & Development) Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in clinical psychology. This selective one-year program empowers early-career psychologists to gain the skills and experience needed to thrive in leadership positions within APA and beyond.

The LEAD Program Experience:

  • Mentorship: Quarterly meetings with a dedicated senior member sponsor.
  • Monthly Group Sessions: Engage in discussions and workshops focused on leadership development.
  • Educational Curriculum: Attend bi-monthly seminars covering essential leadership topics.
  • Committee Participation: Gain practical experience by actively contributing to a standing Division committee.
  • Board Exposure: Observe Division 12 Board meetings and participate in debriefing discussions.

Eligibility:

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology earned within the past 10 years.
  • Strong interest in clinical psychology and leadership opportunities.
  • Motivation to make a positive impact on the future of SCP.
