The Society of Clinical Psychology Seeks a Diverse Membership
Seeking Diversity within SCP
The Society of Clinical Psychology and its leadership believe that the perspectives of a diverse membership are essential for a high quality professional organization. This reflects our values of addressing the needs of our membership and those we serve from diverse cultural backgrounds and personal identities. The Society of Clinical Psychology has a renewed commitment to improving the diversity of our membership and leadership to ensure that contributions and perspectives come from a diverse representation of professionals.
Our vision includes educating, training, and providing information to clinical psychologists within and outside of the division. Through newsletters, scientific publications, meetings, and conventions we carry these central values with the goal of providing information on diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical practice. We will also work to better understand the factors contributing to under-representation of diversity in our membership and to identify feasible and effective solutions. We intend to set an example as a society that exemplifies the values of equity, inclusion, and social justice infused in all areas of evidence based practice. We are committed to cultivating a diverse, supportive, and productive society for broad membership with an environment that fosters growth, inclusion, and social justice.
