Depression in Children: An Examination of Vulnerabilities Associated with Age and Gender Differences

This talk focuses on predictors of depression in children and adolescents. Dr. Julia Felton is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland whose research focuses broadly on gender differences in developmental psychopathology, including risk factors related to depression and substance use during adolescents and the role of stress and maladaptive coping styles. Dr. Felton received her PhD fro Vanderbilt University and completed her clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina as part of the National Crime Victims Center. She currently serves as the Director of the Masters in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Maryland.
