Cassandra Faraci, Psy.D.

Our mission at the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Management is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychological services to children, adolescents, adults, and families of Chester, New Jersey and the surrounding towns. We believe in using effective and evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches to help our patients. Our goal is to teach you to master the skills necessary for addressing your struggles so that you are equipped to handle future difficulties on your own. We don’t want to solely help you “put out the fire” but want to also educate you on preventing the “fires” from happening in addition to providing you with the knowledge base and skill set for putting out future “fires” on your own.

Working with a psychologist is a very personal experience. Your comfort is important for success, and we strive to provide you with a safe place to discuss the struggles with which you or your child are dealing. Each session is tailored to meet your individual needs, and we work together as a team to help you discover the factors leading to bothersome thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Once we’ve figured out the “why”, we then work together to come up with effective strategies to make the changes you desire. Our time is aimed at helping you learn new ways of thinking and behaving so that you are able to effectively handle difficult situations in the future when they arise.

We specialize in the following areas which commonly present to our practice:

  • ADHD
  • Adjusting to change (inflexibility)
  • Aggression (biting, hitting, and other forms of physical aggression)
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Attentional issues
  • Behavior issues
  • Defiance
  • Hyperactivity/Impulsivity
  • Interpersonal conflicts
  • Irritability
  • Obsessions and compulsions
  • Organizational skills deficits
  • Parent-child conflict
  • Parenting struggles
  • Perfectionism
  • Sadness
  • School refusal
  • Separation anxiety
  • Social anxiety
  • Social skills deficits

Some people may struggle with only one of these difficulties. Often times, a few of these co-occur and disrupt growth and happiness. At the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Management, we assess for a wide range of symptoms to create a complete and accurate picture of your circumstances so that treatment is as effective as possible.
