Talk See and Do: Use of Visuals in Psychotherapy for Anxiety

$50.00

Presenter:  Dr. Carroll Cradock

Overview:

Psychotherapy is approaching a transition that will broadly and deeply transform practice. Over the past few
years, it has become clear that psychotherapy clients can get better sooner and stay better longer when the
therapist or counselor integrates visual tools with talk therapy.

The visual techniques in this presentation include two types: virtual tools and tangible tools (personal and household objects).

These visual tools are appropriate for use in mental health care for adults, adolescents and children. The visual approaches in this presentation are intended for use during therapy
sessions, between therapy sessions and post-therapy. Their visibility renders the clinical significance salient for
the client, yet invisible to others and protective of client privacy. The empirical bases for use of these tools
include research on clinical psychology, psychotherapy, visual perception and social psychology.
