Facing Death Mindfully

Join us for a transformative discussion on conscious dying, where we’ll explore the fear of death and its impact on individuals

and communities. We’ll delve into research on terror management, the role of consciousness, and how practices like meditation and psychedelics can help us approach death with greater awareness

and meaning.

 

J. Kim Penberthy, Ph.D., ABPP, is the Chester F. Carlson Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Science at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is the past-president of the Society of Clinical Psychology which is Division 12 of the American Psychological Association.

J. Morgan Penberthy, B.A., M.A., graduated from Wake Forest University in 2017 with a degree in psychology and interdisciplinary humanities and has her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Western Carolina University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon.
